NHES Hosts Seminar on Disaster Resilience and Sustainability

Jamshedpur: Narbheram Hansraj English School (NHES) hosted a seminar titled “Disaster Resilience & Sustainability” on Tuesday, drawing 600 students from various city schools to the Mrs. Kusum Kamani Auditorium. Organized by Women in Rotary International (WIRI) and Civil Defense, the event received support from the National Lightning Resilient India Campaign under the NDMA and IMD.

Principal Paramita Roy Chaudhury opened the session by highlighting the necessity of a resilient mindset for future safety. Guests of Honour Arnav Mishra (SDO, Dhalbhum) and Prakash Kumar Giri (District Road Safety Manager) joined technical experts to lead specialized sessions. Highlights included:

  • Lightning Awareness: Col. Prof. Sanjay Srivastava discussed digital health and lightning safety.
  • Emergency Response: Shri Daya Shankar Mishra conducted a live CPR and First Aid workshop.
  • Road Safety: Mr. Giri educated students on critical traffic safety measures.

The seminar equipped participants from schools like LFS, DBMS, and KSMS with practical life-saving knowledge.
