Jamshedpur, Jan 27: Jugsalai police registered an FIR against one Paromtia Roy for allegedly torturing and assaulting her widowed mother, Shubhra Roy, 70.
Sources said the accused allegedly hit her mother with a lock when the latter stopped her from locking a room in their house at Rajkumari Apartment near Gaushala Nullah Road at Jugsalai. Paromita left her mother at her house in injured condition. Her neighbours took her mother to MGM Hospital. Police reached the veteran’s house on getting information from her neighbours. They said they were verifying the allegations. If the allegations are found true, the accused would be arrested, they said.
