Jamshedpur: The Jamshedpur branch of the Indian Institute of Materials Management (IIMM) hosted its high-profile Annual Dinner Meet on April 27, convening a powerhouse of procurement and supply chain leadership. The event served as a strategic networking hub for professionals from Tata Steel, Tata Motors, Tata Pigments, and various Tier-1 industrial units.
Resilience Over Efficiency: The Shift to ‘Just in Case’
Guest of Honour Ranjan Sinha, Chief Procurement Officer (CPO) of Tata Steel, delivered a keynote address on navigating global market volatility. He highlighted a significant shift in international procurement philosophy.

Sinha urged procurement leaders to balance cost optimization with risk mitigation, emphasizing that the future of the industry lies in collaborative platforms where professionals co-create solutions to shared challenges.
Strengthening the Jamshedpur SCM Ecosystem
Branch Chairman Cdr. Sanjeev Raman (Retd.) detailed IIMM Jamshedpur’s role in professional development. He acknowledged the sustained support from Tata Steel in elevating the branch’s initiatives.
The event drew senior functionaries from Jamipol, IBDM, Multitech Auto Components, XLRI, and Arka Jain University. Attendees praised the meet for bridging the gap between diverse industries in Jamshedpur, offering a rare common platform for mentorship and knowledge exchange between veteran and emerging leaders.
