Jamshedpur, June 21: Mango police arrested two persons for allegedly torturing a woman for dowry here on Tuesday.
Those arrested were identified as Mohammad Rashid, husband of the alleged victim, and his brother Mohammad Shahid, both residents of Gulab Bag Colony, Sunderban, Mango. According to the complainant, Mahteesh of Telco Cross Road No 2, the accused persons together assaulted him with the view to kill him when he had gone to his sister’s house on 19th June last around 5.30 pm to settle her family dispute with her husband and in-laws. The accused persons had demanded dowry and tortured the victim mentally, alleged the complainant.
Police said they were verifying the allegations.
