Jamshedpur traffic undergoes temporary change to ease burden during Durga Puja

Jamshedpur, Sep 29: With the festive fervour reaching crescendo, East Singhbhum district administration here issued a notification regarding temporary change in the city traffic arrangement.

As per the notification, the administration has re-routed vehicular traffic in areas where road jams are most likely to occur during the puja. No entry timing for heavy vehicles has also been changed with immediate effect to avoid accidents and traffic congestion, sources said.

Sources said all vehicles including heavy vehicles would be allowed entry from 1st October to 4th October from 4 am till 11 am. Heavy vehicles would not be allowed from 11 am till 4 am. On 5th October, no vehicle would be allowed to ply on the city roads from 6 am till completion of idol immersion procession.

Sources further said that the vehicles moving towards Sidhgora, Bhalubasa, Agrico, Telco and Golmuri from Sakchi and Mango would go through Bhuiyandih. Vehicles going from Telco towards Tatanagar station would be allowed passage through Namdi Road, Beena Road, Mona Road and BMP School via the road in front of TRF ground. Vehicles going towards Telco would go via NML roundabout and Burmamines police station. This road would be one-way. Vehicular traffic on old Adityapur bridge would be completely banned and only pedestrians would be allowed to pass through this route. The main road passing through the Sonari Airport would be one-way and only vehicles coming from Kagalnagar towards Airport would be allowed. No vehicles would be allowed from Jugsalai Bata Chowk towards Tatanagar station, sources said.
