Jamshedpur, Sep 29: East Singhbhum district police have made adequate arrangements for the security of pandal hoppers this Durga Puja. Women, children and other citizens may enjoy the festival with gaiety and abandon as city police would be keeping a close eye on criminals, hooligans and other trouble-makers.
According to Prabhat Kumar, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), East Singhbhum, “City police are fully prepared for a safe puja for one and all. Special vigil would be kept on pick-pockets, bikers’ gang, eve-teasers and tipplers. Rash drivers would also be under our vigil. We have identified eight such places across the city. Police teams would keep a watch on these elements round the clock.”
The SSP said a special team of 50 women cops would patrol the city on 25 scooties. He said those found driving recklessly or under influence of alcohol or drugs would be arrested and fined. Plain-clothed cops would also patrol the city, he said.
