Jamshedpur, Oct 5: The state’s first e-hospital is set to launch at the Mango Urban Community Health Center (CHC) under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM). Expected to be inaugurated by Health Minister Banna Gupta on October 8, this facility will provide a range of online services, allowing patients to book appointments and receive their reports digitally from the comfort of their homes. The introduction of e-hospital services is designed to simplify healthcare processes for both patients and doctors. It will help minimize errors associated with handwritten prescriptions and ensure faster access to medical records.
Civil Surgeon Dr. Sahir Pal confirmed that after the launch of the Mango Urban CHC, e-hospital modules will soon be introduced at Ghatshila Sub-Divisional Hospital and Sadar Hospital, Jamshedpur. The goal is to convert all Community Health Centers (CHCs) in the district, including those in Jugsalai, Patamda, Potka, Ghatshila, Baharagora, Musabani, and Chakulia, into e-hospitals by December. The e-hospital system will act as a comprehensive Health Information Management System (HMIS), allowing for seamless management of patient records, lab tests, and prescriptions through computerized means.
Key features include online appointment booking, access to lab reports, information on blood availability, and online records of births and deaths. Additionally, patients will be able to access their medical information with just one click, streamlining the entire healthcare experience. This transformation is expected to greatly benefit patients by reducing wait times and ensuring the accuracy of their medical data. The central government will oversee the maintenance of these e-hospitals, ensuring that the system operates efficiently across the district. By December, the district’s healthcare facilities are expected to be fully equipped with digital services.
