Jamshedpur registers surplus rains

Jamshedpur, Aug 23: IMD’s Ranchi Met Centre has said that rainfall activity is expected in the evening and night today. Several parts of Kolhan are expected to experience light to moderate showers today, said a forecast issued by the centre.

IMD’s Ranchi Met Centre also issued an alert of thunder and lightning in isolated areas today. Several places including Jamshedpur today woke up to bright sunshine. The forecast indicates light cloud formation with one or two spells of rain.

Met statistics revealed that against a normal of 730.5 mm, the state has so far received 535.4 mm, a deficit of 27 per cent. According to statistics, both the twin districts of Singhbhum have registered surplus rains while the rest of the districts were facing deficient rains.
