Jamshedpur, June 9: A long-pending demand for the improvement of the burial ground for children near Gandhi Ghat in Sakchi is set to be addressed, thanks to the persistent efforts of social activist Saurabh Vishnu, head of the Jan Vikas Manch.

After repeatedly raising concerns regarding the poor condition of the site through correspondence, meetings, and public advocacy, Vishnu’s initiative has begun to yield positive results. On Monday, a team of senior officials from Tata Steel Corporate and the Tata Foundation visited the burial ground along with Vishnu to assess the situation firsthand.

During the inspection, officials examined the existing infrastructure, reviewed the issues highlighted by local residents, and discussed possibilities for the site’s development. They assured that Tata Steel would take steps to transform the area into a clean, organized, and dignified space, ensuring that families visiting the site were provided with a respectful environment.

Speaking on the occasion, Saurabh Vishnu said the matter transcended politics and was fundamentally linked to social sensitivity and public welfare. He expressed gratitude for the positive response from Tata Steel and hoped that the company and the administration would work together to create a place that symbolized peace, respect, and dignity.

The proposed development was expected to provide a meaningful civic improvement while addressing an emotionally significant concern for many families in the city.
