Jamshedpur records 13.6°C as minimum temperature rises across Jharkhand

Moderate Weather Expected in Jharkhand

Jamshedpur: The residents can expect moderate weather conditions over the next three days, as forecasted by the Indian Meteorological Department’s (IMD) Ranchi Meteorological Centre. According to the latest weather updates, there will be no significant changes in the minimum temperatures across the state during this period. However, a slight rise in maximum temperatures is anticipated at certain places.

The state experienced relatively mild weather today, with Gumla recording the lowest minimum temperature of 8.8 degrees Celsius. Garhwa and Khunti followed closely, with their automatic weather stations recording minimum temperatures of 10.5 and 10.8 degrees Celsius, respectively. Meanwhile, the capital city Ranchi experienced a comparatively warmer morning with a minimum temperature of 16.7 degrees Celsius, while Jamshedpur recorded 13.6 degrees. Daltonganj and Bokaro Steel City registered minimum temperatures of 12 degrees and 11.6 degrees Celsius, respectively.

According to the IMD, the minimum temperature in most parts of Jharkhand showed an upward trend today, indicating the gradual transition towards warmer days. Meteorologists explained that the slight increase in night temperatures could be attributed to the prevailing Western Disturbance over North Pakistan at an altitude of 3.1 km above the mean sea level. This cyclonic circulation, which originated over North Afghanistan, has contributed to the relatively milder nights by influencing the wind patterns in the region.

The Western Disturbance is known to bring about changes in temperature and weather patterns, primarily impacting the northern parts of the Indian subcontinent. In Jharkhand, this system has led to cloudy skies at times, preventing a rapid drop in night temperatures.

The moderate weather conditions are expected to provide relief to residents, especially in areas that have been experiencing colder nights. The slight rise in maximum temperatures during the daytime will contribute to a more comfortable atmosphere, enabling daily activities without the severe cold that was witnessed earlier this winter.

The weather forecast is particularly relevant for the agricultural community in Jharkhand. The moderate temperatures are expected to be beneficial for the standing Rabi crops, including wheat and mustard, which require balanced temperatures for optimum growth. However, farmers have been advised to stay updated on further weather developments as any abrupt changes could impact crop health.

The IMD has advised people in the state to continue taking precautions during the early morning and late evening hours when the temperatures could still be relatively low. Light woolens are recommended, especially for the elderly and children.

For the next 72 hours, the overall weather conditions are expected to remain stable with moderate temperatures. However, the IMD has urged residents to keep an eye on daily weather updates, as the presence of the Western Disturbance could lead to occasional cloudy conditions or isolated drizzles in certain areas.
