Jamshedpur, Nov 26: Central Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee (CGPC) Pradhan Gurmukh Singh Mukhe could not file his nomination form for the upcoming elections of the Sikh religious body on the last day here on Saturday.  Altogether five people had purchased the nomination forms.

Mukhe, accused of raping and sodomizing a woman from Kadma, did not turn up to take the nomination paper for the CGPC polls.

Today was the last day of filing the nomination forms.

Sources said Mukhe was supposed to file his nomination form along with the written letter of support from five Gurudwaras of the city as per the election rules of CGPC. But none of the Gurudwaras supported him, claimed sources, which resulted in his failure to file his nomination form.

Other four persons who purchased the nomination form are Harminder Singh Mindi, Harvinder Singh Mantu, Bhagwan Singh and Mahendra Singh. The election would take place on 29th November, sources said.

Meanwhile, several women staged a demonstration under the banner of Jharkhand Mahila Morcha before CGPC office against Mukhe’s candidature earlier. They said they would be complaining against Mukhe to the SSP of Jamshedpur. They said Mukhe should not be allowed to contest the CGPC elections given the serious charges against him.
