Recover pistol and magazine
Jamshedpur, Feb 6: The police claimed to solve the firing incident on a man at the Tatanagar railway siding under the Burmamines police station area on December 18, 2022. The police have arrested three persons identified as Ayush Das, Ajit Gupta and Pawan Mondal, all residents of Burmamines and Railway Traffic Colony in Bagbera locality.
Following the arrest from a place in the Jajpur district of Odisha, the police today recovered a 7.65 mm pistol and a magazine from a house at Baba Kutir in Bagbera.
Revealing the breakthrough, superintendent of police (City) K Vijay Shankar said that the three had launched a gun-shot attack on one Bhola Pandey in the railway siding area on the night of December 18, causing the victim to sustain serious bullet injuries.
“During the probe we found that the gun-shot attack was the result of gang rivalry in the railway area. Following this a team was set up to detect those indulged in the attack. But all three had absconded and had taken refuge at a place in the Jajpur district in Odisha, which is the native village of Ayush Das. The police team, however, managed to get information and succeeded in finding out the whereabouts of the accused and nabbed the three from Jajpur on Sunday,” said Vijay Shankar while talking to newsmen at a press conference.
The City SP said during interrogation, the accused persons confessed that they had hidden the pistol they had used in the attack at a place in Baba Kutir in Bagbera. He said the pistol and a magazine were recovered following a raid at the place in Baba Kutir today. The assailants were forwarded to Ghaghidih Central Jail after their production before a judicial magistrate on Monday afternoon.
