Woman arrested for allegedly sheltering Maoists ahead of PM Modi’s rally in Palamu

Palamu, May 3: In a significant development preceding Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming election rally in Palamu on May 4, the police achieved a major breakthrough on Friday. Law enforcement officials uncovered materials for constructing land mines and other items, including gunpowder, from a small bunker located outside a residence in Hussainabad. Furthermore, the police arrested the wife of Akhilesh Yadav on charges of providing shelter to Maoist Nitish Yadav.

In a crackdown on the banned Naxalite organization CPI-Maoist, Palamu Police seized various items, including explosives, from the Maoists’ bunker. The arrest of a woman for harboring Maoists ensued. The residence in front of which the bunker was discovered is owned by Akhilesh Yadav. His wife was apprehended at the scene. According to police statements, Akhilesh Yadav and his wife allegedly offered refuge to senior Maoist figure Nitesh Yadav.

Recently, CPI Maoists had distributed posters in several police station areas, including Haidernagar and Pandu of Palamu. Following the poster distribution, the police initiated continuous operations in border regions encompassing Hussainabad, Haidernagar, Pandu, and Mohammadganj. It is speculated that due to the intensified police operations, the Maoists relocated and concealed their supplies. Upon receiving intelligence regarding this, the police swiftly acted and achieved success in their operation.
