Jamshedpur, August 1: Players from the East Singhbhum District Chess Association (ESDCA) showcased outstanding performances at the 22nd Jharkhand State Junior Under-19 Boys and Girls Chess Championship.
The Chess Championship held at Sarla Birla Campus, Ranchi, from 27 to 30 July, 2023, saw Adhiraj Mitra of ESDCA clinched the championship title in the boys’ category, while Sunidhi Singh emerged victorious in the girls’ category. Notably, Devanjan Sinha secured the third position in the boys’ category, and Kriti Kumari achieved the third position in the girls’ category.
In recognition of their exceptional achievements, Mukul Vinayak Choudhary, Chief Sports Excellence Centres, TFA & Sports at Tata Steel along with ESDCA general secretary NK Tiwari felicitated the players.
Also present were Vibhuti Adesara, Senior manager Sports, Tata Steel, Chief Arbiter Jayant Kumar Bhuyan, Chess coach Chandan Kumar Prasad and others.
