Jamshedpur: The state’s premier competitive yoga competition, the State-level Yogasana Sports Championship, is set to take place on May 24, 2026. To ensure smooth coordination of this event, the World Fitness Federation of Yogasana Sports (WFFYS – Jharkhand Chapter) has officially constituted a new executive committee led by yoga expert Anshu Sarkar as the President.

New Executive Committee Formed
The new committee was finalized during a high-level meeting aimed at promoting Yogasana as a mainstream sport in Jharkhand. The appointments include:
- Patron: Social worker Indrajit Ghosh
- General Secretary: Indrajit Chakraborty
- Vice Presidents: Anjana Kumari Singh and Vishwajay Chaudhary
- Treasurer: M.K. Sharma
- Joint Treasurer: Jagdish Singh
Event Logistics and Registration
Sarkar informed that the championship will be hosted at the Andhra Association English School auditorium in Kadma. The Sarkar Yoga Academy will support the event as a partner organization, with Prasad Nandi serving as Chief Judge and Gaurang Sarkar as Chief Observer.
- Registration Deadline: Interested athletes from all districts must register by May 20, 2026.
- Objective: The organizers hope this competition will establish a new identity for Yogasana in the state and inspire the youth to adopt a healthier, yoga-centric lifestyle.
