Jamshedpur, August 26: A violent altercation in Mango Gaud Basti on Monday resulted in an attack and attempted rape of a mother and daughter. The incident reportedly began over a dispute about dirty water flowing on the road.
On Monday morning, Mahavir Pramanik’s family was mercilessly beaten and violated after a longstanding dispute over dirty water drainage escalated out of control.
According to Mahavir Pramanik, the family had been enduring severe harassment from local residents Raju Gaud, Sunil Gaud, Vishal, Dabu, and Pappu Gaud for the past two days. The conflict reached a horrifying climax when these individuals stormed into the Pramanik residence with the intent to inflict maximum harm.
In the midst of this violent confrontation, the attackers launched a brutal assault on Pramanik’s daughter, Riya, attempting to rape her. When her mother, Shobha Pramanik, intervened to rescue her daughter, she too fell victim to the assailants’ cruel intentions. Shobha was brutally dragged out of the house, thrown into a drain, and had her gold jewelry forcibly removed.
The assault did not spare other family members. Mahavir’s elder daughter Sija, son-in-law Hiralal, younger daughter Riya, and younger brother Shibu were all violently attacked, with injuries reported. Vishal Gaudka also sustained a broken arm during the melee.
The traumatized family was rushed to MGM Hospital for medical treatment following the horrific events. The police have been alerted, and an investigation is underway to bring the perpetrators to justice.
