Jamshedpur, May 8: Students of Jamshedpur Women’s University (JWU) brought laurels to the institution by performing exceptionally well in the All India Tennis Ball Cricket Tournament held in Haridwar, Uttarakhand, from May 1 to May 3. The women’s team representing the All India Industrial Tennis Ball Cricket Board secured third position in the national-level competition.
Two university students, Lakshmi Hembram from the Department of Commerce and Roshni Soy from the Department of English, were members of the successful team. Their performance earned appreciation from the university administration and sports department.
For the tournament, Prabhat Kumar Mahto, Physical Education teacher from the B.Ed Department, served as the coach of the team, while R. Teja, also from the B.Ed Department, was appointed Technical In-charge.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ela Kumar congratulated the students for their achievement at the national level. She said sports play an important role in life and help in developing discipline, self-confidence and leadership qualities among students.
Sports Chairman Dr. Sanatan Deep also congratulated the players and faculty members and wished them success in future competitions.
