Jamshedpur: A swift investigation by the Kadma police led to the arrest of three individuals connected to a chain snatching incident reported earlier this month. Authorities recovered modified stolen jewelry, cash, and the vehicle used during the commission of the crime.
The Incident and Investigation
On May 2, assailants on a scooter targeted Anita Chaudhary near Anil Sur Path Road, forcibly snatching her gold chain before fleeing. Following directives from senior officials, a dedicated police team utilized surveillance footage and local intelligence to track the suspects.
On May 6, police detained two suspects near Tata Workers Union High School. During interrogation, the individuals admitted to the snatching and provided details regarding the disposal of the stolen property.
Recovery and Arrests
The investigation led officers to a jewelry shop in Kadma. The shop owner allegedly purchased the stolen chain, melted it down, and converted it into three gold rings.

Suspects Identified: Police arrested Prakash Patel of Adityapur, Pritam Singh (alias Pongo) of Bhatia Basti, and Nikhil Soni of Sonari.

Seizures: Officers recovered the three gold rings, ₹15,000 in cash, and the scooter used in the incident.
The accused admitted to selling the chain for ₹25,000. Following their arrest, the police produced all three individuals before a court, which remanded them to judicial custody.
