Jamshedpur: Mango Municipal Corporation Mayor Sudha Gupta completed her self-enumeration for Census 2027 at her residence on Friday, officially launching a local awareness drive for the nationwide exercise. Deputy Mayor Rahul Kumar Kashyap also participated in the self-enumeration process to signal administrative support for the campaign.
Timeline for Data Collection
Officials highlighted two critical phases for the census operation in the Mango region:
- Self-Enumeration Phase: Residents can currently complete their own data entry through the official portal from May 1 to May 15.
- House Listing Phase: From May 16 to June 14, 2026, designated enumerators and supervisors will conduct door-to-door visits for property listing and data verification.
Impact on Governance
During the drive, Mayor Gupta emphasized that the census serves as the foundation for effective governance. She noted that accurate data ensures that welfare schemes and development programs reach the appropriate beneficiaries.
The awareness event was attended by Assistant Municipal Commissioner Chandan Kumar, Jharkhand Census Operations official Dilip Kumar, and Assistant Town Planner Kaushal Jangid. Local authorities urged citizens to cooperate with visiting staff to ensure the success of the data collection effort.
