Jamshedpur, April 25: All major mosques in Jamshedpur strongly condemned the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, during their Friday sermons on April 25. Imams from across the city including Mecca Masjid in Dhatkidih denounced the April 22 attack as inhuman and cowardly, and offered prayers for the victims and their families.
Imam Shams Tabrez of Mecca Masjid stated unequivocally that “terrorism has no religion” and emphasized that Islam strictly prohibits the killing of innocents. He asserted that those who committed such heinous acts could not be associated with Islam, a faith that stands for humanity, peace and brotherhood.
The Imam also expressed concern over certain media narratives attempting to give the incident a communal color, warning that such portrayals could spread hatred in society. He urged the central government to act firmly against both the terrorists and those engaging in divisive propaganda.
This unified stance from the Muslim community leaders not only condemned terrorism but also sent a powerful message that Indian Muslims stood for the country’s unity and were opposed to any force that threatened peace and harmony.
