Ranchi (IANS): Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren handed over appointment letters to 336 newly recruited personnel during a state-level function at Project Bhawan in Ranchi on Monday. During the event, he asserted that the state government will fill thousands of more vacancies within the next two to four months.
Soren distributed appointment letters to 319 Intermediate and Graduate-trained assistant teachers and 17 female supervisors.
Addressing the gathering, Soren noted that the Education Department alone has recruited over 9,000 teachers over the past four months, and promised that several more government departments will soon announce new appointments. He advised the newly appointed candidates to view their government jobs not merely as a source of income, but as an opportunity to contribute to the development of society and the state.
The Chief Minister urged the newly recruited teachers to serve in rural and remote areas, pointing out that such regions face an acute shortage of educators. “We often receive complaints that some teachers are reluctant to work in remote villages, whereas these are the places that need their services the most,” Soren said.
Soren further claimed that his government has provided employment to nearly 1.5 to 2 lakh people so far, while acknowledging that recruitment for several other posts remains pending.
Highlighting malnutrition as a major challenge confronting Jharkhand, the Chief Minister stated that teachers and female supervisors will play a crucial role in addressing the issue. He added that the government aims to build a healthy, educated, and self-reliant generation.
