Jamshedpur man accused of freeing warrantee arrested

Jamshedpur, March 21: Police arrested one Sukhdev Karmakar from Nirmalnagar locality of Sonari for allegedly deterring public servant from discharge of government duty and freeing a warrantee from police custody. Sources said the accused had allegedly freed Sunny Karmakar, accused in the murder of one Rohit Paswan in Roopnagar, Sonari, on 20^th March 2021. Rohit was killed on 21^st December 2021. Sunny was a member of Sonu Siyal gang accused of killing Rohit. A mob of local residents had gheraoed the Sonari police station and pelted stones on police to protest against Sunny’s arrest. In this case, police had lodged an FIR against 11 persons. Cops said raids were on to nab the other accused persons.
