Jamshedpur man gets 25 year jail for raping minor

Jamshedpur, March 21: The Special POCSO court of Additional District and Sessions Judge (V) Sanjay Kumar Upadhyaya sentenced one Dinesh Hansda to 25 years of imprisonment for raping a minor. It also imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 on the convict.

The case dates back to 21st June 2020 when information about the minor’s rape reached Chakulia police station. The accused had raped the minor and made her pregnant. The victim’s family had taken the matter to the local panchayat and called a meeting. The accused had denied the charges. Later, the victim’s family registered an FIR at Chakulia police station. Cops arrested the accused on 26th June 2020.
