Jamshedpur, Sept 11: The Jubilee Park has remained closed since March 23, 2020 as a measure to prevent COVID spread. The authorities did open the Park on July 15, 2021 but citizens were allowed inside only after presentation of ID Cards. Meanwhile, on August 13, Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Rai visited the Park when it was discovered that Tata Steel Utilities and Infrastructure Services Limited (formerly JUSCO) had dug up the main road passing through the Park and laid that portion with grass and soil. Since then, the issue heated up in the city as questions were asked under whose authority had the Tata Steel Utilities and Infrastructure Services dug up a public thoroughfare. The main gate of the Park continues to remain locked. More than that, the road passing through the Park is an easy route from Sakchi to Kadma-Sonari and the Northern Town area. Now people have to take a detour of a distance from half to two kilometers.
