Jamshedpur, April 26: Employees of SIS Security, operating under Tata Steel, staged a demonstration at the Sitaramdera District Labor Commissioner (DLC) office in Jamshedpur, voicing their demand for the payment of gratuity.

Expressing their grievances, SIS Security personnel highlighted the prolonged delay in receiving their gratuity payments, spanning over four months. In a bid to address their concerns, representatives from SIS Security engaged in discussions with Avinash Thakur, the DLC official, outlining their issues and urging swift resolution.

During the meeting, SIS Security communicated with the branch head over the phone to provide detailed insights into the matter and emphasized the urgency of gratuity disbursement. In response, the DLC officer granted a three-day ultimatum to the branch head, warning of potential consequences if the payment is not expedited.

Commending the efforts of the DLC Labor Cell, workers underscored their dissatisfaction with SIS Services’ failure to fulfill their financial obligations promptly. They cautioned that if the outstanding gratuity amounts are not settled within the stipulated timeframe, they would resort to more forceful forms of agitation.

It is noteworthy that out of 77 individuals awaiting gratuity payments, only 23 have received their dues after persistent follow-ups with the company. The remaining employees continue to await resolution, prompting the demonstration held on Friday to highlight their plight.
