Jamshedpur, April 2: Vicky Bhalotia, a businessman hailing from Jugsalai, Jamshedpur, has been granted bail by the Jharkhand High Court. Bhalotia was implicated in a GST scam amounting to Rs 48.50 crore and was apprehended in December. His arrest took place in Kolkata.
Allegations against Vicky Bhalotia revolved around his purported involvement in evading GST through a fictitious company, a matter under investigation by the Central Investigating Wing of GST. Following a thorough inquiry, substantial evidence was gathered against Bhalotia, leading to the issuance of an arrest warrant against him.
Bhalotia’s defense was undertaken by senior advocates Prakash Jha and Nitin Pasari. As a result, the High Court granted him bail on Tuesday. This development marks a significant turn in the ongoing legal proceedings surrounding the GST scam case.
