Jamshedpur, April 2: In a remarkable display of promptness and skill, doctors at MGM Hospital, Jamshedpur, saved a patient’s life by performing emergency surgery on his severed throat. The incident unfolded around 4 am on Monday when a patient from Chaibasa arrived at the hospital with a critical throat injury, with blood flowing continuously.

Upon examination, doctors determined that the patient’s windpipe was severed, posing a grave risk to his life. Dr. Sanjay Kumar, head of the ENT department, quickly mobilized specialists Dr. Rohit Jha and Dr. Bhimsen Hansda for immediate action.

Within half an hour, the ENT specialists arrived, and by 4:30 am, the operation theater was prepared for surgery. The surgical team swiftly commenced the procedure, which lasted for approximately one and a half hours, successfully saving the patient’s life.

The doctors’ proactive response and efficient teamwork earned widespread praise on Monday. Dr. Rohit Jha emphasized the urgency of the situation, highlighting the critical condition of the patient’s windpipe and the imminent risk of respiratory complications. Despite the patient’s financial constraints, the hospital ensured that timely medical intervention was provided, underscoring its commitment to saving lives regardless of financial status.
