Jamshedpur, Feb 11: A shocking incident of daylight firing near the Golmuri police station on Wednesday left a fruit vendor critically injured, triggering panic in the area and raising serious questions over security arrangements.

The victim, Kanhaiya Yadav, was shot at barely 50 metres from the police station when unidentified assailants arrived on a motorcycle and opened multiple rounds of fire before fleeing the spot.
Eyewitnesses said the attackers acted swiftly, targeting Yadav at close range and escaping within moments. He reportedly sustained more than three bullet injuries.
The sudden gunfire created chaos, with locals running for cover.
Residents immediately rushed the injured trader to Tata Main Hospital, where he is undergoing treatment under close medical supervision. Hospital sources said his condition remains critical.

City DSP Sudhir Choudhary and the officer-in-charge of Golmuri police station reached the spot soon after the incident with a police team and launched an investigation.
CCTV footage from nearby areas is being examined, and raids are being conducted to identify and apprehend the attackers.

Yadav, a resident of Namda Basti near the railway line and Hanuman Temple, operates a fruit business from the Parsudih market.
His father, popularly known as ‘Pahalwan’, earlier ran a fruit cart at Tinplate Chowk.
The brazen attack, carried out in close proximity to key police establishments, has sparked concern among residents, with authorities assuring swift action against those involved.
BJP leaders visit TMH to enquire about shooting victim
Jamshedpur, Feb 11: Leaders and workers of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) visited Tata Main Hospital (TMH) to enquire about the condition of Kanhaiya Yadav, who was critically injured in a daylight shooting in Golmuri.
Former BJP district president Dinesh Kumar, accompanied by party workers, reached the hospital soon after learning about the incident. They met the attending doctors to obtain updates on Yadav’s medical condition and expressed concern over his health.
Speaking on the occasion, BJP leaders assured the victim’s family of their support and demanded swift action against those responsible for the attack.
They emphasized the need for strong measures to ensure public safety and prevent such incidents in the city.
Yadav is currently undergoing treatment at TMH, where doctors are closely monitoring his condition.
