Saroj Banerjee Appointed MD of Tata Pigments Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur: Tata Steel has announced a series of significant leadership changes and organizational updates. Under these new directives, Saroj Kumar Banerjee has been appointed as the new Managing Director of Tata Pigments Limited.

Chief Safety Raw Material Division & Ferro alloy plant

Banerjee, who previously was the Chief of Safety (Raw Materials) & Ferro alloy plant at Tata Steel, has been deputed to Tata Pigments Limited at his current level for a tenure of three years. During this period of deputation, he will operate out of Jamshedpur and report to the Vice President of Safety, Health, and Sustainability for administrative matters within Tata Steel. This official circular was issued under the signature of Tata Steel CEO and Managing Director T.V. Narendran and became effective this past Tuesday.

Simultaneously, Anil Kumar Singh Harshana, an IL-2 grade officer who had been serving as the Managing Director of Tata Pigments Limited while on deputation, is returning to Tata Steel. Upon his return, he is being appointed as the Chief of Logistics at his existing level. In this capacity, he will report to the Vice President of TQM, GSP, and Supply Chain, continuing his duties from Jamshedpur. This specific transition is scheduled to take effect on February 15.

In addition to these top-level appointments, Tata Steel has implemented organizational changes affecting two IL-3 grade heads. According to the issued circular, Shiv Shankar Sahu, who was the Head Construction Civil, OMQ Joda & FMD, E&P, Civil Construction, P&C West Bokaro, has been moved to a temporary six-month assignment in Sustenance Projects starting February 1. He will report functionally to the Chief of Construction Civil and administratively to the Chief of P&C West Bokaro.

Abhinav Prakash, formerly the Head of BPE IM Jamshedpur (Business Performance Enhancement- Operations), is being transferred to the role of Head of Process Excellence, Center of Excellence (One Supply Chain). He will report functionally to the Chief COE (One Supply Chain) and will remain based in Jamshedpur. This particular circular regarding Prakash will come into effect starting March 15.
