Two Parked Buses Reduced to Ashes in Mango

Jamshedpur

A major fire broke out late Sunday night in the Ulidih police station area, completely destroying two stationary buses. The incident, which took place on Sankosai Road No. 1, triggered widespread panic and chaos among local residents as towering flames rapidly engulfed the vehicles.

According to local eyewitnesses, the fire is suspected to have been caused by an electrical short circuit. Witnesses reported seeing sparks flying from a nearby connection, which quickly ignited one of the buses. Due to the presence of highly inflammable material inside, the flames spread with alarming speed, jumping onto a second bus parked right adjacent to it. Within minutes, both vehicles were completely swallowed by the inferno.

Upon receiving distress calls from anxious residents, the fire department rushed a team to the spot. Firefighters battled the aggressive flames for hours under challenging conditions before successfully bringing the situation under control.

While the swift response prevented the fire from spreading to neighboring residential structures, both buses were reduced to a heap of mangled metal and ash. Fortunately, because the vehicles were empty and parked at the time of the incident, no casualties or injuries were reported.

However, the financial toll is significant. Preliminary estimates suggest that the total destruction of the two buses has resulted in losses worth lakhs of rupees.

The local police have registered a case and initiated a formal investigation into the matter to determine the exact sequence of events and verify if negligence played a part in the short circuit.
