Jamshedpur, Dec 30: A major incident was averted by the block administration showing promptness on the information of a tree being set on fire among the population in Majhi Tola of Bankuchia village in Patmada block. On receiving the information about the fire at 2.45 pm, the block officer immediately reached the spot along with Kamalpur police station in-charge. There were many houses around the tree that caught fire. The spread of the fire could have resulted in loss of life and property.
There is also a 440 volt electric wire passing near the tree. Even after the fire, electricity was still flowing in that wire, which could have caused more serious damage. Immediately the CO informed the engineer of the electricity department through telephone and the electricity in that area was switched off. Along with this, the fire fighting vehicle was called after contacting the fire department in Jamshedpur. The fire was brought under control by running this rescue operation from late night till 2.00 am till 3.30 am. CO Patmada said that there was no loss of life or property in the relief work carried out with the help of police force, fire department and local people and the fire was successfully brought under control without any loss.
