Jamshedpur: Father and aide get life term for child’s abduction

Seraikela, Aug 22: The court of Principal District and Sessions Judge of Seraikela-Kharsawan Vijay Kumar Monday sentenced Akash Mukhi and Amar Kumar Pan to life imprisonment in connection with the kidnapping of a one and a half year old girl. It also slapped a fine of Rs 10,000 on them.

The case dates back to 7th June 2016 when Akash Mukhi, with the help of Amar, allegedly abducted his own daughter from Shivnarayanpur, Adityapur. Amar reportedly went to Akash’s wife’s residence and expressed his desire to take the child out to a shop for buying toffees for her. Akash’s wife, Rani, objected first but later allowed the stranger to take her child to the shop. Later, Amar took the child away while acting at the behest of Akash, sources said.
