Jamshedpur FC U-18 stage comeback win, go top of Group B

Jamshedpur FC U-18 Come From Behind to Beat Gokulam Kerala FC, Move Top of Group

Mahilpur/Jamshedpur, April 19: Jamshedpur FC U-18 produced a spirited second-half comeback to defeat Gokulam Kerala FC 2–1 in their AIFF Elite League Final Round Group B clash, moving to the top of the table and closing in on a place in the knockout stage.

The match began on a difficult note for Jamshedpur as Gokulam Kerala FC struck as early as the second minute, catching the defence off guard. The early goal allowed Gokulam to dictate the tempo in the first half, with JFC struggling to find rhythm and momentum despite trying to settle into the contest.

However, the Young Men of Steel returned after the break with renewed intensity and purpose. Their persistence paid off in the 49th minute when Mars Ningthoujam found the equaliser, bringing Jamshedpur back into the game. Just four minutes later, Rayan completed the turnaround, finishing clinically in the 53rd minute to give JFC the lead.

Jamshedpur controlled the proceedings thereafter, showing composure and discipline to see out the game and secure a crucial victory. With this result, Jamshedpur FC U-18 now sit at the top of Group B with four points and need just a draw in their final group match to confirm qualification for the knockout stage.

They will face Mohun Bagan Super Giant in their final group fixture on April 21, in what promises to be a decisive encounter.
