Jamshedpur, Nov 20: The ongoing investigation by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has taken a sharper turn after the East Singhbhum deputy commissioner Karn Satyarthi failed to appear before the agency for questioning on the scheduled date.
According to official sources, the ACB had summoned the DC in connection with an ongoing probe, but he did not present himself for the interrogation.
The reasons for his absence were not immediately disclosed.
Following the no-show, the ACB has issued a fresh summons, directing the deputy commissioner to appear before investigators on Monday.
Officials said that his examination is crucial to the progress of the case, though the agency has not publicly detailed the nature of the allegations being probed.
The ACB, which has intensified its actions across Jharkhand in recent weeks, maintains that it will proceed strictly according to legal protocols.
The agency is expected to question the DC on several administrative and procedural issues linked to the investigation.
Sources indicate that the ACB is closely monitoring compliance with the new summons. Any further absence could prompt the agency to consider additional legal measures.
Further developments in the case are awaited as the ACB prepares for Monday’s scheduled questioning.
