Jamshedpur Cyber thugs pose as army officer, cheat brick trader

Jamshedpur, November 2: Cyber criminals misled Rana Pratap Singh, a brick trader, resident of Mango Kunwar Basti, by pretending to be a senior army officer over phone and saying that he would place an order for supplying bricks to the Sonari Military Camp, and the entire money went missing from the account of Rana Pratap Singh.

Rana was tricked into believing that he was asked to send a vehicle of the highest quality of brick to the military camp of Sonari and asked him to deposit Rs 12,500 for processing the bill and placing the order.

Before sending the bricks to the military camp, Rs 12,500 was deposited in the account given to Rana Singh.

Within a few minutes, about Rs 30,000 remaining in Rana Singh’s account were automatically deducted. Rana Singh was shocked and when he contacted the driver, he said that we are standing near Sonari Airport, no one is contacting us, the number given had been switched off.

Rana Singh understood that he had been tricked by cyber criminals. Rana Singh has complained about the matter not only in the cyber police station but also in the Mango police station.
