Jamshedpur: Basco found guilty in Murder Case of four Tudu family members in Jharkhand’s East Singhbhum

Jamshedpur, April 12: Basco Tudu, the accused in the murder case of four members of the Tudu family in Potka of East Singhbhum district, has been convicted by the court of ADJ-2 Abhash Verma. The victims identified as Thapa Tudu, Malti Tudu, Sonia Tudu, and Ramesh Tudu were murdered eight years ago on January 20, 2016. The court has scheduled a hearing on the sentencing for April 26.

During the trial, evidence including the murder weapon, post-mortem reports indicating ante-bottom injuries, and testimonies of 13 witnesses, including the investigating officer, were presented. Basco Tudu, who has been in jail since his arrest following the incident, participated in the court proceedings via video conferencing from Ghaghidih Central Jail.

Basco Tudu was found guilty of killing Thapa Tudu with an axe while he was defecating outside his house, followed by the murders of Malti Tudu, Sonia Tudu, and Ramesh Tudu with a stick. Mohan Tudu, a member of the family, filed a named FIR against Basco Tudu at Potka police station, leading to his arrest and subsequent imprisonment.
