Jamshedpur: In a bid to empower farmers with knowledge about government public welfare schemes, the Birsa Kisan Awareness Rath embarked on its journey from the Collectorate premises, flagged off by Deputy Commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri and Senior Superintendent of Police Kishore Kaushal.
The chariot is set to traverse through the Panchayats of all blocks, strategically reaching even the remote villages. District Magistrate Manjunath Bhajantri emphasized the importance of reaching these distant areas and urged officials to organize farmer seminars. These seminars aim to disseminate information about the various public welfare schemes initiated by the government.
Among the key topics covered by the awareness chariot are soil health, organic farming, water management, seed treatment, mechanization, farmer credit cards, fish farming, animal vaccination, and distribution of soil health cards. The objective is to equip farmers with knowledge that enhances their agricultural practices and maximizes the benefits from government schemes.
Highlighting the significance of Kisan Goshti (farmer meetings), District Magistrate Bhajantri stressed that these gatherings would prioritize addressing technical problems in farming. Additionally, the focus will be on providing comprehensive information about government welfare schemes and showcasing the latest agricultural technologies to agricultural scientists, officials, extension workers, progressive farmers, and the general public.
The event witnessed the presence of Deputy Development Commissioner Manish Kumar, Additional Deputy Commissioner Jaideep Tigga, ADM Law and Order Rajeev Ranjan, District Agriculture Officer, and other officials. Their collective efforts reflect a commitment to empowering farmers and fostering agricultural development in the region.
