Jamshedpur: 86th Foundation Day of CRPF celebrated at 106 Battalion RAF

Jamshedpur, July 27: The 86th Foundation Day of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), the country’s largest paramilitary force, was celebrated on July 27, 2024, at the 106 Battalion Rapid Action Force (RAF) in Sundarnagar, Jamshedpur. The CRPF, established on July 27, 1939, was initially named Crown Representative Police and was renamed after India’s independence.

Floral tributes were offered in remembrance of martyrs for their sacrifice and valor. The event was attended by Second Command Officer Shailendra Kumar, Second Command Officer Sachidanand Mishra, along with other officers, subordinate officers, and jawans.

At 10 am, the chief guest took the salute at the quarter guard. During the Sainik Sammelan, the officers highlighted the importance of the force, its history, and the sacrifices of their predecessors. They inspired the soldiers to uphold the dignity of the CRPF and to serve the country with utmost valor. Information about the golden history, work, and various dimensions of the CRPF was also shared.

A plantation drive was organized as part of the program. Sweets were distributed to the soldiers by the Second Command Officer and other officers. An inter-company cricket match was held in the evening, with trophies and gifts awarded to the winners. To make the occasion special, a grand traditional feast was organized.
