Independence Day celebrations at Jamshedpur Women’s University

Jamshedpur: Jamshedpur Women’s University celebrated the 78th Independence Day with a series of events at both Sidhgora and Bistupur campuses. The flag was hoisted by Honorable Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Anjila Gupta, followed by a salute during a parade featuring NCC, NSS, B.Ed, and Evergreen Agency participants.

In her address, Prof. Gupta highlighted the country’s progress, emphasizing India’s achievements in various sectors including agriculture, defense, and digital technology. She praised the university’s accomplishments, such as regular examinations, the first convocation, and the introduction of the NEP curriculum. Notably, she announced a salary hike for teachers and non-teaching staff of vocational courses.

The celebration included a cultural program with performances by students from various departments. Dr. Sanatan Deep and the music department presented patriotic songs, while B.Ed students performed a dance drama under Mrs. Sudha Deep’s direction. The Mass Communication students showcased a drama on women empowerment, and the Biotech students delivered a group dance. The NSS and NCC also contributed with their performances, culminating in the rendition of “Vande Mataram.”

Sabar girl students Kunami Sabar, Milan Sabar, Lakshmi Sabar, Deepali Sabar, and Marsi Pahariya were honored for their free enrollment and hostel arrangements. The event was attended by various dignitaries and concluded with a vote of thanks by Registrar Rajendra Kumar Jaiswal.
