Jamshedpur, August 2: Unauthorized construction work at Shri Ram Tower, a six storied building on Road No 1, Mithila Colony in Baridih Basti. The owner of the building, Sitaram Agarwal, has been getting construction work done in spite of the multi-storied structure being sealed by JNAC.
Local resident and Vice President of the East Singhbhum District Congress Committee, Bablu Jha, issued a press statement on Wednesday, expressing concern over the district administration officials’ lackadaisical attitude on the issue and accused that such inept approach was tarnishing the image of the Congress alliance government in Jharkhand. He urged the district authorities to take immediate action and demolish the building to avoid any damage to the state government’s reputation.

Congress leader Bablu Jha further stated, “No action has been taken against Shriram Tower by the JNAC so far. No fines have been imposed, and neither has the water and electricity connection been cut. The illegal construction of the multi-storied building is proceeding at a rapid pace. The rule of law is being openly flouted, and the JNAC officials remain silent. The building lacks proper parking arrangements and extends far out onto the main road that is clearly visible to all. During its construction, there have been several accidents involving local residents. Complaints have been lodged multiple times, but officials’ visits result in temporary sealing without any concrete action, allowing the building construction work to continue unrestrained.” According to the Congress leader, the construction of this multi-storied building would permanently cause traffic congestion on the main road. Complaints have been registered by the local residents at the police station, the Congress leader’s press release stated.
