Jamshedpur, Aug 2: In what comes as a relief to countless passengers traveling to Kolkata for Durga Puja and Dussehra, the eagerly awaited Vande Bharat Express is expected to begin its operations between Ranchi and Howrah via Tatanagar before the festive season. The decision on the train’s fare, route, and timings will be made shortly.
According to reliable sources, the long wait for the Vande Bharat Express is about to come to an end. On July 28, the Chennai-based ICF coach factory dispatched new Vande Bharat coaches for the Ranchi-Howrah route. A total of eight coaches have been dispatched for the Ranchi-Howrah Vande Bharat, indicating that the commencement of services is imminent.
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav had previously announced that the second phase of Vande Bharat Express operations would include the Ranchi-Howrah route after the Ranchi-Patna route. This announcement has further fuelled speculations that the Vande Bharat Express will be operational on the Ranchi-Howrah route soon. The service will not only cater to Howrah station but also connect stations in Chennai, Patna, Lucknow, Prayagraj, Delhi, Jaipur, Indore, and other cities simultaneously.
However, the final decision on the specific route from Ranchi to Howrah is yet to be determined, with discussions centered around multiple options. The chosen route will be based on passenger demand to ensure maximum convenience. The two proposed routes are: Ranchi-Muri-Jhalda-Purulia-Barabhum-Tatanagar-Ghatshila-Chakulia-Jhargram-Kharagpur. Ranchi-Muri-Bokaro-Dhanbad.
As for the train’s timings, a conclusive decision is yet to be reached. Authorities are diligently working to finalize the schedule, considering the optimal time slots for the convenience of the travelers.
