Jamshedpur: Under the Jharkhand government’s Chief Minister Pashudhan (Livestock) Distribution Scheme, run by the Animal Husbandry Department, goats and ducklings were distributed to farmers at the Potka block headquarters on Saturday.
Potka MLA Sanjiv Sardar attended the event as the chief guest and distributed the livestock among 17 beneficiary farmers. Under the scheme, six farmers received 10 insured goats each, along with tubs, mugs, and deworming medicines. Additionally, 11 farmers received 30 ducklings each. The event witnessed immense enthusiasm among the participating farmers.
Sardar said that the Hemant Soren government is running public welfare schemes to strengthen the rural economy and connect farmers with self-employment opportunities. He emphasized that animal husbandry is a powerful medium for rural families to become self-reliant.
“The Chief Minister Pashudhan Yojana aims to empower farmers and rural youth so they can strengthen their financial condition through livestock farming,” the MLA said. He urged the beneficiaries to take proper care of the livestock and maximize the benefits of the scheme.
The MLA directed officials to ensure that the benefits of government welfare schemes reach genuine and needy individuals with complete transparency. He added that the state government is working to increase employment opportunities in villages and double farmers’ income.
