Haldipokhar turns normal after two days of bandh

Jamshedpur: Normalcy returned to Haldipokhar market on Sunday after two days of bandh observed by the local traders against the killing of four local youths.

Heavy police deployment made by the district administration was removed after the situation showed signs of improvement. People moved out in the marketplace as shops opened for the day�s business.

Local Mukhiya Syed Zabiullah said the compensation of Rs 2 lakh given to kin of each person killed in the lynching incident at Rajnagar was not the only demand. He said the remaining demands would be raised before Chief Minister Raghubar Das.

Local administration officials said the information regarding the demands would be sent to the state government.

Local leaders have demanded a compensation of Rs 25 lakh and government job for the dependents of each victim.
