Jamshedpur: Kolhan DIG of police Prabhat Kumar on Sunday said that certain anti-social elements had tried to disrupt peace in Mango in an organized manner yesterday.
He said the police was trying to identify the culprits responsible for pelting stones and attacking police officials and creating ruckus.
He said video footage and other resources were being collected to get information about the culprits. He said if political leaders come in support of the culprits, action would also be taken against them.
“We will not let the culprits walk scot-free. Those trying to disrupt peace in the city through such unlawful activities would be prosecuted. We have deployed adequate forces in Mango so that no one dares to repeat such acts of violence,” said the DIG.
Kumar said no child was stolen or abducted in the last several days in any part of the district. He said such rumours were spread meaninglessly just to create panic and lead to lawlessness.
He said the citizens should not pay heed to such rumours. If any child goes missing, complaint should be lodged immediately with the police, he said.
