Jamshedpur, Jan 29: A joint venture between Dinesh Chandra Aggarwal and Ibrascon, a Gujarat-based company from Ahmedabad, has been awarded the contract to construct a 3.4 km long flyover between Sakchi and Mango in Jamshedpur. The proposed flyover will span the Subarnarekha River, providing a permanent solution to traffic congestion in the city. The acceptance of the tender was based on a thorough review of technical and financial bids by the joint venture company.

The Engineer-in-Chief of the Road Construction Department, Krishna Kumar Lal, issued an official order confirming the award of the contract to the joint venture company. The decision to construct the flyover was initiated when Chief Minister Hemant Soren laid the foundation stone for the city’s first flyover on November 7, 2022. Following the foundation stone laying ceremony, the Chief Minister approved the project within three days.

The Cabinet subsequently sanctioned Rs 461 crore for the 3.5 km long flyover project between Sakchi and Mango. A detailed project report (DPR) amounting to Rs 474,78,27,700 was submitted to the Road Construction Department, and a tender worth Rs 237 crore was issued for the construction. The flyover aims to alleviate traffic congestion and enhance transportation infrastructure in Jamshedpur.
