Five-day workshop on ‘Taming Turbulence’ kicks off at NIT Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, Jan 20: A five-day workshop titled ‘Taming Turbulence: Advancements in Flow and Acoustic Technology’ commenced at NIT Jamshedpur on January 20. The workshop is designed to train students and engineers on the development of new aero-structures, including Wind Turbines and Aeroplane wings and engines, with a focus on reducing noise and enhancing their operational lifespan.

The inaugural session featured Chief Guest Dr. Mayank Bhasin, Founder and CEO of Transenigma Pvt. Ltd., who spoke about the importance of collaborative entrepreneurship and the fusion of spiritual education with sciences. He encouraged attendees to adopt a holistic approach to innovation and entrepreneurship.

Director Dr. Gautam Sutradhar highlighted the institute’s strengths in entrepreneurship and praised the achievements of its alumni. He stressed the importance of such workshops in fostering a culture of innovation and practical knowledge. Deputy Director Dr. Ram Vinoy Sharma urged students to actively participate in the workshop and take advantage of the valuable learning opportunities.

Dean R&C Prof. M.K. Sinha discussed the numerous research opportunities available at the institute, pointing out that the new year has started with great potential for growth and learning through initiatives like this workshop. Prof. Sanjay, HOD of Mechanical Engineering, also praised the department’s contributions to research and innovation in the field.

The workshop was attended by over 50 students from various institutions and research scholars, all of whom will benefit from the insights shared during the session. The event was coordinated by Dr. Arvind Kumar Patel, Dr. Rinku Kumar Gouda, Dr. S.K. Sudhanshu and Dr. Shailesh Jha from the Mechanical Engineering Department, who ensured the event ran smoothly and efficiently.
