Firefighting system installed at RVS College of Engineering

Jamshedpur, Oct 21: RVS College of Engineering and Technology has installed a state-of-the-art firefighting system on its 30-acre campus, aimed at enhancing fire safety across its buildings and hostels. Head of the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department, Professor Thakur Pranav Kumar Gautam, announced that the system was set up at a cost of ₹4 million.

The system includes 52 water discharge points capable of spraying water up to 60 feet high and 120 feet away, ensuring rapid control of fires across key structures like the administrative building and all five hostels. A training session was held for 40 staff members to familiarize them with the operation of the system.

Institution Treasurer Shatrughan Singh stressed the importance of this installation in managing fire-related emergencies, while Principal Professor (Dr.) Rajesh Kumar Tiwari hailed the system as a significant milestone for the college. The event was attended by key officials, including Administrative Dean Professor Krishna Murari, Academic Dean Dr. Sharad Kumar Mahto, department heads, and faculty members.
