Jamshedpur, October 21: Subhash Sanskriti Parishad, in collaboration with The Milanee, celebrated INA Day at Milanee Hall, Bistupur. The event, chaired by Shekhar Dey, founder of Subhash Sanskriti Parishad, featured Bijay Kumar Singh, former Kolhan Commissioner and President of Netaji Subhash Manch, as the chief guest. The program aimed to highlight lesser-known aspects of history.
The event began with a lamp-lighting ceremony and floral tributes to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. In his speech, Shekhar Dey recalled December 30, 1943, when Bose hoisted the tricolor at the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, marking a key moment in India’s independence struggle. He criticized the political neglect of this event in the country’s historical narrative.
Dey also discussed the 1943 Proclamation of the Provisional Government of Azad Hind, which Bose declared at Singapore’s Central Hall. Countries like Japan, Italy, China, and others recognized the government, supporting Bose’s pledge to liberate India.
Speeches were also given by Dipankar Dutta, Secretary of The Milanee, and Surjit Chatterjee, Secretary of Subhash Sanskriti Parishad, with a large gathering of Parishad members in attendance.
