Chaibasa, Feb 28: A father and son duo was booked for allegedly assaulting the staff of Jharkhand Bijli Vitran Nigam Limited (JBVNL) in Manoharpur on Monday.
Sources said the accused persons, Nandlal Gupta and his son Saurabh Gupta, manhandled a team of JBVNL officials soon at Post Office Chowk after they disconnected the power connection of their house for non-payment of electricity bills. According to the officials, the two first asked them to reconnect the power supply to their house and later abused and threatened them. Nandlal allegedly tried to hit an on-duty electrical engineer and his staff with shoes. He and his son also allegedly threatened to bump off the JBVNL staff, alleged the complainant engineer. The version of the accused persons could not be taken.
