Jamshedpur, June 10: A visit by Union Minister of State for Coal and Mines Satish Chandra Dubey to inspect the ongoing Mango National Highway-33 flyover project led to severe traffic congestion in the area on Wednesday, causing inconvenience to commuters and creating a critical situation near MGM Hospital.

Dubey, who is on a visit to Jamshedpur, arrived at the Mango NH-33 flyover construction site to review the progress of the much-awaited infrastructure project.
He was accompanied by Jamshedpur MP Bidyut Baran Mahato and BJP Jamshedpur Mahanagar president Sanjeev Sinha, among other party leaders and officials.
As the ministerial convoy and accompanying vehicles reached the site, traffic movement on the busy stretch came to a near standstill. The situation worsened during peak hours, with long queues of vehicles forming on both sides of the highway.

The traffic disruption had a serious impact near MGM Hospital, where two ambulances carrying patients reportedly got stuck in the jam. Witnesses said the ambulances remained stranded for several minutes as vehicles struggled to move through the congested corridor.
Local residents and commuters quickly stepped in to assist traffic personnel in clearing a passage for the emergency vehicles.
With their cooperation, the traffic bottleneck was gradually eased, allowing the ambulances to reach the hospital.

The incident sparked criticism from several commuters, who questioned the traffic management arrangements during the VIP visit.
Many expressed concern that emergency services should never be affected during official inspections, particularly near a major healthcare facility such as MGM Hospital.
Despite the disruption, the minister reviewed the progress of the flyover project and discussed its implementation with concerned officials. The Mango flyover is considered a crucial infrastructure project aimed at easing chronic traffic congestion on the NH-33 corridor and improving connectivity between Mango and the rest of Jamshedpur.
The temporary traffic chaos, however, overshadowed the inspection visit, drawing attention to the need for better planning and coordination during high-profile official engagements in densely populated urban areas.
